The American Civil War is the ninth and penultimate mission of the Operation Eclipse campaign in Act of Aggression.[1]

Completing this mission unlocks both Exodus and Fall of Olympus... Rise of Heliopolis for the Beyond the Mirror campaign.

Background[]

Majken Lofquist contacts Greg C. Schaefer, telling him the situation in USA has escalated ever since Wittel's exposure with the amount of mobilization going on. Schaefer, aware of Wittel's popularity and reputation, is already expecting worse. Lofquist then adds the US government, fearing these units may be unwilling to fight Wittel or defect and join him, requests Chimera to intervene. Schaefer doubts on its necessity, but Lofquist explains the troops will need a seasoned commander to continue the fight. He agrees and sets off to assist.

Scoping & Moving[]

Harding mentions the presence of possible enemy units between Base Alamo and the Chimera-led US force, which must be defeated in order to secure the Base. Lofquist also adds they will have to make the best use of the base' own infrastructure as they cannot build anymore.

The joint force, despite their light equipment, made effective use of cover to fight through light enemy resistance, eventually reaching the base and seized its assets.

Multilateral Mutilation[]

A group of M993s arrive as Harding and Lofquist mention the base' lack of resources despite its armament. They will have to rely on stealing resources from guarded location and handle any resistance on the way. To add onto this Wittel's own forces are continuously pouring reinforcements in an attempt to overwhelm and destroy Base Alamo from all directions, using similar if not superior equipment at their disposal and intensifying their efforts over time.

To fend off enemy offensives, Base Alamo begins to reorganize its own defense, producing units to aid its structures. A small attack force is diverted in order to steal some minimally defended resources, eliminating the minor resistance on their way then letting the M993s pull everything they have. Harding advises the joint force to hurry their efforts and seek for more, as Wittel's units will hardly ever give up, while friendly reinforcements are yet to arrive.

Open Assault[]

Over time, the joint force is gaining strength, building up its arsenal to both defend themselves and to prepare for their eventual offensive. They stretch their wings to attack and take the depots one-by-one, conquering enemy units that are out for blood and intent on stopping them. As soon as they take a second depot Harding warns them that NORAD has spotted increased enemy activity, while the third coincides with the imminent arrival of allied ground vehicles, including a tank. They also take advantage of the TUSK 1 Kits and capture enemy facilities.

The joint force then attacks from ground and air, using whatever assets at their disposal to eliminate enemy resistance that are harassing them at range. Though they take heavy losses, they are able to reach and destroy Wittel's HQ.

Unfinished Business[]

Lofquist announces their victory with some of Wittel's allies surrendering or taken by surprise without firing a single bullet while a group of Abrams and F-22 Raptor cruise over. Though Chimera and their US Army allies managed to foil his plot, Wittel and the remaining loyalists survived the assault and have escaped to Mexico.
