The Rhino is an artillery unit of the Chimera.
Gameplay[]
Rhinos are decently powerful artillery units with good versatility, having high range and speed, can fire on the move but does relatively low damage. They can be later upgraded to gain a massive range boost and the ability to detect enemy artillery units.
Chimera's only response to snipe ground from afar, Rhinos are highly versatile, able to deliver suppression and then immediately run off to avoid trouble from counter-battery fire while still landing a couple shots. Their very high movement speed for an artillery unit not only allows for hit and runs but also makes for flexible strategies that share a few artillery units for fire support across multiple locations, as Rhinos can quickly reach them. Their extreme range and upgrades only makes them even better at this, able to consistently chip down buildings and units in even smaller numbers, while their range makes it very difficult for ground enemy units to stop them in time. With their artillery detection, Rhinos can even be used to cripple an attack by allowing themselves and other friendly artillery units (including AMOS) to take out their enemy counterparts, leaving the rest unsupported and vulnerable to Chimera's other specialists.
However, Rhino's main strengths can prove to be its downsides as well. Their cost effectiveness isn't the best, as 2500 credits is a lot to ask for, and they lose out in raw power when compared to others, even though credits are much easier to gain. While other artillery units have lower range, Rhinos do not inflict enough damage to cripple frontline units and alleviate defensive pressure, unlike NLOS-C/Buratino/Koalitsija. In terms of durability, they only have as much health as HIMARS and literally anything that manages to touch them will destroy these immediately. This somewhat reduces their potency for defense, and even in a frontline assault where they get to pick off infantry and structures, they will require serious protection in order to keep the pressure and may prove ineffective in smaller numbers. Fortunately, Rhinos' combination of attributes can make it just as dangerous as its counterparts.
