Resources are required to produce units and structures and research upgrades in Act of Aggression. There are three main harvestable resources: Dollars, Aluminum, and Rare Earth Elements, as well as Electricity, a secondary resource.
Dollars[]
Dollars, or Credits, is the most essential out of the three resources. Many core units and structures of the three factions require them to be produced. Credits are primarily obtained through the following methods:
- Any faction can use their respective refineries to exploit oil fields.
- Capturing a POW provides 500 up front. Any faction can also generate further income with them via Field hospital/Prison/Barracks. Each prisoner adds to 4 credits per second.
- For each slot occupied by a faction's infantry, Banks generate 5 credits, up to 30. Each bank has a limited capacity and will stop producing resources when it is depleted.
- All HQs generate 30 credits per second.
- The Administrative center generates 20 credits per second.
- The Income outpost generates 5 credits per second.
Aluminum[]
Aluminum is a less abundant secondary resource, used in the production of advanced units and structures. Aluminum is primarily obtained through the following methods:
- Any faction can use their respective refineries to exploit aluminum fields.
- The Cartel Barracks has an aluminum module that converts its credit income to aluminum once it reaches full capacity. This is not affected by the Ransom Network upgrade.
- The Syntech Lab generates 20 Aluminum per second.
- US Army can trade each POW for 1000 Aluminum in their Field hospital.
Rare Earth Elements[]
Rare earth elements, simply known as Rare earth, is the least common resource, generally located far from starting locations. It is essential for building sophisticated units and structures alongside their accessible counterparts, but is otherwise similar to aluminum. Rare earth elements are primarily obtained through the following methods:
- Each faction has a specific way of extracting them:
- US Army needs DEFCON 1 to access the Processing Plant.
- Chimera needs the SHIELD Protocol and SWORD Protocol to purchase Rare Earth Extraction Protocol, which allows any Refinery to mine them.
- Cartel needs Black Ops and Stealth Lab in order to purchase the Rare Earth Exploitation Module, which allows a selected Refinery to extract them.
- US Army can trade each POW in for 250 Rare earth elements in their Field Hospital at DEFCON 1.
- Chimera's Prison can trade 5/10 POWs for 1500/3500 Rare earth elements (300/350 each) once Rare Earth Extraction Protocol has been purchased.
- Cartel's Underground Stock Market produces 4 Rare Earth Elements every 2 seconds.
Electricity[]
Electricity, or Power, is a resource necessary for certain buildings to function, to recharge the electricity reserve, as well as zooming out to for satellite view. Each aforementioned owned building occupies a certain amount of electricity as long as it exists. If the power consumption exceeds production, electricity reserves begin to drop over time at a fixed rate until it hits zero, after which everything supported by electricity becomes unavailable until the numbers even out.
Each faction has specific interactions between electricity and buildings.
