The Refinery is a resource processing structure that exploits nearby deposits.

Gameplay[]

  • Once constructed, refineries begin to extract resources automatically, adding them physically to its own reserves. The stock level visually changes according to the amount it actually has.
    • All refineryes drill at the same rate by default, 14 for Oil/Aluminum and 6 for Rare Earth.
  • All refineries correspond to a faction-specific logistical vehicle. They immediately produce one for free when constructed, and can always add more unless they reach their maximum assignment number. Assignment is by default done automatically, but can also be disabled for manual intervention.
  • Each refinery has a capacity of 1000. Extraction stops once they are full and only resumes if they are emptied. All resources stored inside the refinery as well as any logistical vehicles within are lost when it is destroyed or sold.
    • When a logistical vehicle enters the refinery, it remains inside to deplete the refinery's stock until it reaches maximum capacity, at which point it leaves in order to deposit resources in an assigned resource storage structure, adding it to that specific owner's stock. Only one logistical vehicle may be present at any single refinery or non-HQ (which can process two at a time) resource storage structure.
      • Oil is immediately converted and does not to be physically stocked. Aluminum and Rare Earth however require external storage and add to the total stock. In the case where the stock is full, the resources are not unloaded until additional space for the has been created.
      • In the case with multiple factions on the same team, logistical vehicles can be used to ferry resources to any allied deposit structure.
    • Logistical vehicles take the average amount if a refinery has multiple types of resources.
  • Refineries have a very small extraction range, and a detection range for nearby resources that's slightly higher. Although it is more useful to use Survey Units, most resource fields assume a square formation anyway and a refinery can be built to discover the rest.
  • All Refineries are not considered structures that produce offensive units, even though the Chimera's Crusher is able to be weaponized
  • All refineries can extract any number of resource deposits nearby as long as they are not covered by any building, including itself. Refineries however do place an extractor to indicate which deposit is being mined. Only one extractor may exist per deposit, and as long as it is there, it blocks building placement.
    • When a deposit has been depleted, it simply despawns.
