The PAK FA is an air superiority fighter of the Chimera.

Gameplay[]

PAK FA is the most versatile plane of all, combining the role of an air superiority and ground attack aircraft in stealth. By default it's only suited for air to air engagements, but can be upgraded further with flares to divert enemy missiles and gain specialized missiles to target enemy ground vehicles.

Chimera is heavily reliant on PAK FA with its overall performance. It behaves similarly to other air superiority fighters, doing well against all types of enemy aircraft, and has flares for its own defense. However, its main highlight are its air to ground capabilities that the faction otherwise lack. As secondary weapons, these missiles do heavy damage, do not break stealth, and can be fired as long as the jet is in the sky. Combined with its existing capabilities, a few PAK FAs can quickly add up and cause a lot of trouble in enemy airspace while raining a bit of destruction on enemy vehicles. Since its primary target are aerial enemies, when it doesn't get the chance to fire its main weapons it could circle targets longer than usual, making it deadly to anything that can't retaliate.

Being an air superiority fighter to its core, the PAK FA is limited by its own role when used in any capacity. Unlike dedicated equivalents, it seems to fall behind in performance and can struggle when confronted by enemy air defenses. Its Air-to-Ground missiles have a slow rate of fire, so if solely reserved to counter ground targets, PAK FAs may not achieve enough damage to dent an attack, nor can they retreat quickly unless recalled. Its cost can also be a huge problem, being the most expensive Chimera aircraft in terms of credits, exceeding that of any other air superiority fighter. PAK FAs are still dependable, as they have good performance in all roles it could cover.
