The Otomatic is an armored anti-air vehicle of the Cartel.
Gameplay[]
Otomatics are overall decent units, with their single autocannon, good mobility and air stealth detection. With upgrades, they are even able to intercept enemy missiles.
As a unique AA unit, Otomatic has a surprisingly high amount of health and great speed. Its only method of engagement cannot be deceived by flares, and hence can deal heavy damage to just about any aircraft or just take them down outright. Air stealth detection complements it well, ensuring enemy air units cannot simply sneak past it. Their ability to directly engage all other types of targets and missile interception only makes them even better, giving them a wide variety of potential roles with their relatively low cost. Earlier on it can supplement the Scorpio to harass enemies by providing cover during Scorpio's weapon downtime, while later on it can defend armored pushes by protecting fragile vehicles like the Spectre and the vulnerable Koalitsija, being one of the few Cartel units able to take out enemy missiles.
Unfortunately, much like how Chimera's adaptability leaves a lot to be desired, Otomatic's greatest strength also proves to be a huge downside. Its attack and sight range are indeed on par with its equivalents, but it often requires something else spotting for it to engagement. While it does guarantee damage or total destruction to aircraft, Otomatics tend to have serious trouble in actually hitting them by itself in the first place, especially against the likes of Valkyrie, F-22 Raptor and Berkut which missile-firing units can actually hit in large numbers since a few will continue chasing, whereas autocannon shots do not if they miss, and a massive horde of them is often required to neutralize one aircraft, let alone the many other stronger units that Otomatics cannot even put a dent in like the Abrams. Even when targeting slower ones like the B-2 Spirit, Otomatics can only merely shoot them down, unable to limit the damage done and requires the assistance of other units. They are also easily distracted when overwhelmed by too many targets which can completely ruin an attack. It loses out to specialists in many regards like Jackal, LOSAT and Berkut for various purposes, but does not fall off completely and remains irreplaceable for what it does.
