Background[]
Damocles is a prominent PMC with connections to both the Cartel and Yueng Corporation, though its influence and importance are not specified.
Piet Vermaak used to serve under them until he faked his death.
Involvement[]
After recovering analyzing remaining Belyie Volki equipment, Chimera discovers that some of them are connected to the Weyland Defense Corps, which in turn is a front company for Yueng Corporation. High Commissioner Majken Lofquist requests Colonel Greg C. Schaefer to conduct a commando operation and uncover any connections to Raul Escobedo. They instead discover Damocles' possession of American Peacekeeper launch codes, which would allow them to control such missiles on US soil and threaten the American government into submission. This revelation prompts Lofquist to warn the UNSC and USA, the latter responding with its own military forces led by General James T. Wittel. A Cartel member himself, Wittel takes advantage of the mission and his position to preemptively liquidate Damocles and prevent it from compromising Cartel.
Now a liability tripped of its nuclear arsenal, Damocles refuses to back down and attacks the California National Guard. Officially an observer, Schaefer oversaw the assault element and laid siege to Damocles with US forces under his command, eventually destroying it.
The loss of Damocles proved inconsequential to Cartel's agenda, as Cartel resorted to their own superweapon, with Chimera forces being their first target before being repositioned to disrupt the State of the Union Address.
