The Antey-2500 is a superweapon defense of the Chimera.
Game Unit[]
Antey-2500 is a slow and weak unit on its own, but carries 2 missiles to counter enemy tactical weapons, can detect stealth air units and attacks them from extreme range. It can be later upgraded for a capacity and weapon interception range boost.
As the most versatile counter to superweapons, the Antey-2500 is a force to be reckoned with, primarily due to its overall mobility. Once built, it can be moved around to cover different sections of a base, or taken along with an attacking force to prevent enemy superweapons from destroying them, and indeed it is small enough to fit inside a Valor for transport. Chimera has a variety of other methods to eliminate air targets like Pantsir/Terminator/PAK FA, but like the Rhino and HIMARS, what makes this unit special is its truly impressive range that exceeds even the Patriot, allowing one to seriously dent a column of air units, and a few can essentially shut down airspace in their entire coverage by shooting down enemy aircraft long before they get to your base. When paired with an Air Control Center, it could pick off enemy aircraft long before they attack and deny the use of helicopters near the base. It's also helpful to know that it doesn't drain your base' electrical supply, so even if you run short on them, the Antey-2500 will continue to function provided if you could pay for its missiles. Speaking of its cost, Antey-2500 is the only tactical weapon counter that does not cost any rare earth to refill, so Chimera players can easily exploit Income Outposts and Prisons to uphold their defense.
Apart from the already obvious speed and vulnerability issues, the Antey-2500 has another apparent flaw, that being its low sight range, which complicates matters since it cannot spot enemy aircraft to fire upon them early, necessitating the presence of another friendly unit or the Air Control Center. It also has a somewhat slow rate of fire, so too many aircraft coming at a time may simply overwhelm it and one of them may connect, dealing devastating damage. It also lacks the ability to cover itself from ground units, nor can it shoot down enemy missiles coming its way unless something like Terminator/Pantsir comes around, so it rarely works well without assistance. Fortunately, Chimera is no short on these options, and Antey-2500 remains an excellent option for its purposes.

Trivia[]
- The Antey-2500 is most likely based off of the Task Force Talon's guardian drone from Act of War, both being mobile platforms that are relatively defenseless on their own and primarily used to counter enemy superweapons.
- The in-game ammunition description erroneously refers to its missiles as S-300VM instead of 9M82M. This is possibly attributable to a developmental oversight that left a placeholder name, since S-300VM and Antey-2500 are both interchangable when referring to the missile system.
