Act of Aggression: Reboot Edition is a new edition of Act of Aggression, released for free to all owners of the original game on March 21, 2016. The Reboot Edition aims to overhaul many of the gameplay features of the original game. It was developed in response to the subpar reception that the original Act of Aggression received after its launch.

Features[]

The Reboot Edition applies the following changes to multiplayer and AI skirmish games. (The single-player campaign remains unaffected and is not included)

  • Single-resource economy consisting of only credits.
  • All factions gain the Extractor structure that can be built at the start on any oil field.
    • All Refineries process resources on their own when Logistical Vehicles deliver some to them, and the amount assigned to each is no longer limited.
    • Logistical Vehicles now have a uniformed capacity of 600 each. Both the Crusher and K-MAX Tanker are more expensive.
  • Improved unit reactivity.
  • The Underground Stock Market, Administrative Center and Income Outpost now uniformly generate 25 Credits every two seconds. The Syntech Lab has been removed as a result.
  • Unit facelifts.
  • Each Bank now generates twice as much income.
  • Repair vehicles (Hercules/BREM-80U) can no longer heal each other, but gain the ability to heal themselves slowly. Repair Outposts are not affected.
  • Tokamak Generators and Power Plants produce two more units of electricity. Outpost produces one more.
  • Up-front payments for construction.
  • Construction vehicles are now controllable units and any number of them can be produced, able to build any building from its own faction when other requirements are met. These vehicles do not disappear when building structures and instead must remain for the whole period. Incomplete buildings can be finished by another friendly construction unit. These units must be also destroyed to defeat an opponent.
    • Buildings no longer produce other buildings, but can still produce associated construction vehicles. Each faction also has one additional building other than their HQ that produces such vehicles.
    • Buildings can now be sold instantly, and the funds arrive immediately.
  • Aircraft summoned from Air Control Centers are faster and go straight to their target point, but can no longer be controlled and will despawn soon after they make their approach or when recalled.
  • Unit replacements:
  • Better unit scaling.
