“120 millimeters of pure democracy.” — M1A2 Abrams |
The Abrams is a main battle tank of the United States Army.
Gameplay[]
Abrams is overall a strong vehicle. Initially with only a cannon and moderate health, it can be upgraded further with TUSK kits to obtain additional endurance and HMGs.
Known primarily for their strength, Abrams are best suited for frontline fighting and does exceptionally well when confronting enemy land vehicles heads on. They can deal significant damage, destroying such vehicles in a clean hit or two and apply lots of pressure, even to buildings, whist being somewhat difficult to take down. They form a particular synergy with healing units like Hercules, able to exploit the health recovery well and cover friendly units, especially vehicles. TUSK upgrades, aside from boosting its survivability, adds some HMGs as secondary weapons, which can independently engage exposed infantry and helicopters close-up. Though with a high credit cost, Abrams only cost them to produce, which combined with US Army's strong credit economy can allow them to be fielded with terrifying ease.
Despite being arguably the strongest tank, Abrams isn't without weaknesses. It lacks means to avoid damage and can be punished easily by enemy anti-armor attacks unless backed by units that can intercept them. This is especially apparent in aircraft and anything has NLOS guidance, as they either snipe the tank outside of its attack range, from cover, or are impossible to hit by the tank itself. While it is able to destroy nearly any unit it touches, it often has trouble getting to them in the first place, more so when unsupported since many units that can be paired with the tank often cost a secondary resource to produce. And while it's a credit-only unit, unlike the Terminator or Spectre it must be upgraded individually, meaning the costs can very easily stack up. To this end, they are near-impenetrable when used properly for defense and can counter enemy resistance in an allied armored push, but additional support is always necessary to maintain their devastation.
